We have an excellent opportunity for a Vice President of Youth Market. This position will report to the SVP of Youth Market for the Great Rivers Affiliate.

Plans, organizes, monitors and evaluates all Youth Market related projects and activities throughout the an assigned territory.. Provides leadership and training to staff and volunteers. Guarantees effective and efficient utilization of resources through an integrated marketing approach. Supervises four to five functionally aligned Youth Market Directors.

Major Responsibilities:
' Share in the planning, management, and evaluation of the Affiliate through participation as a member of the management team.
' Responsible for the overall planning, monitoring, coordination, promotion and evaluation of the Affiliate Youth Market programs including Jump Rope for Heart, Hoops for Heart, and other Youth Market activities.
' Support and guide staff in the development, implementation and evaluation of the mid-range and annual goals/objectives for the defined territories.
' Promote the Affiliate to outside organizations, agencies, and associations that have common interests as they relate to AHA Youth Market activities.
' Provide orientation, training and consultation to staff and volunteers for all activities related to Youth Markets, with primary emphasis on Jump and Hoops.
' Supervise and mentor functionally aligned Youth Market Directors, ensuring that all goals and objectives relating to program numbers and revenue generation are met.
' Develop and manage a departmental budget related to all Youth Market activities.
' Secure/coordinate vendor support that will contribute to the most efficient management of Affiliate-wide projects.
' Ensure adherence to all national and Affiliate Youth Market policies, guidelines and procedures.
' Advise senior management on policies, procedures and issues related to Youth Market programming.
' Develop and implement a multi-year Business Plan, incorporating specific strategies to guarantee three-year growth to bring Affiliate to National Youth Market averages. Also include strategies to form partnerships at the Affiliate and local level.
' Works with appropriate volunteer task forces.
' Collaborate with Affiliate counterparts in other areas of the Affiliate and Nationally.
' Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

Must reside within the assigned markets or within close proximity in an effort to best manage territory
' Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and 3-5 years experience in program/developmental management in an outside sales or a non-profit environment.
' Proven leadership and management skills, demonstrated by the ability to organize, plan, implement and evaluate.
' Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
' Ability to analyze and forecast budgets and other numerical data.
' Demonstrated community organization skills with the ability to recruit, train and manage volunteers effectively.
' Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to work with all social strata, occupations and diverse backgrounds.
' Willingness and ability to travel 75% of the time within the Affiliate and to National Center as needed.
' Ability to supervise clerical and field sales staff which includes daily local business travel; ride-a-longs with staff in their defined territories.
' Presentation skills for small and large groups.
' Ability to work as part of an integrated team.
' Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.
