General Summary:

Provides supervision and coordination of manufacturing within the manufacturing teams. Follows directions set forth by the Manufacturing Manager and provides training and support to direct reports.

Fulfills Quality System requirements as described within the Quality Manual.

Complies with all health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and job hazard assessments applicable to specified job activities including medical evaluations as required by job function.

Supervises the work of group leaders, direct labor personnel, and technicians, ensuring that product quality requirements are met for all goods produced. - 20%

Plans, coordinates and communicates with manufacturing teams, supervisors and managers concerning the daily production plan required to fulfill customer requirements and inventory levels. - 20%

Creates an atmosphere that is consistent with company goals, policies and ethics. Nurtures open and positive communications. - 20%

Collect data on performance of production and generates reports including efficiencies within the area, makes recommendations for process improvement changes. - 10%

Responsible for training line personnel in departmental policy and some company policies. Participates in audit preparation processes. - 10%

Provides regular performance feedback and coaching to direct reports. - 5%

May have indirect responsibility for methods, fixtures and manufacturing processes, including but not limited to recommending improvements that drive cost, quality or productivity. - 5%

Establishes cost standards with manufacturing teams and manager, ideas on flow of manufacturing and recommends purchasing of tools, equipment and materials. - 5%

Ensure JHA's and Risk Registers are completed for all jobs. Compile and properly maintain JHA's and Risk Registers performed within their departments. Ensure workers are properly trained in all elements of the JHA. Ensure new employees are properly trained to appropriate JHA's before starting work assignments. Ensure proper controls and preventative measures are in place and utilized, including personal protective equipment (PPE). - 5%

Scope of Position Responsibilities:

For Supervision:

Supervises up to 50 direct labor employees.

For Internal and External Relationships

Constant contact within manufacturing team environment as well as other operating groups.

Requirements:

Education:"or equivalent" (at end of this field)

1. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business or Technical area.

Experience:

Two (2) to four (4) years experience as a first line supervisor within a manufacturing environment.

Medical manufacturing a plus.

Two (2) year experience in a process engineering or quality control role a plus.

Familiarity with statistical process control, lean, six sigma, or other processes improvement methods.

Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
