Job Summary

Provide effective leadership in the development, oversight, and continued assessment of the Clinical Education Program. Embody Tulsa Community College's mission, vision, beliefs and values to ensure student learning and build an educated, employed, and thriving community.

Essential Duties

Engage in successful pedagogical practices that cultivate respect and understanding of individual differences.

Design and deliver student learning experiences and assess student progress.

Provide constructive and timely communication with students and colleagues.

Guide and mentor students in and outside the classroom to promote their success.

Collaborate with colleagues to promote learning and professional growth.

Engage in ongoing professional growth and development.

Serve the college and community as an active contributing professional.

Management of the program’s clinical activities.

Supervise the organization, development, and administration of the clinical curriculum.

Coordinate with clinical sites to ensure student are developing clinical practice skills, appropriate supervision/assessment of students is available at the clinical sites, and ongoing assessment of the effectiveness of the clinical training is occurring for students in the respiratory care program.

Coordinate with the Program Director to ensure that clinical education for program is coordinated with didactic and laboratory activities and is sufficient to meet program outcomes and required accreditation standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.

Valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license.

Relevant credentials per discipline assigned; experience in developing, facilitating, andassessing learning experiences.

Require a minimum of four years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist with at least two years' in clinical respiratory care.

A minimum of two years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in aCoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students ofsuch program.

Require the annual completion of assigned training.
