The Advance Practice Provider (APRN) is responsible for providing direct consumer care to assigned consumers within an urgent care setting. This is a professional level position working under limited direction yet in coordination with a Lead APP.

Typical work scenario require specialized knowledge, critical thinking, sound judgment based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences skills, as well as strong customer service skills. Internal contacts include medical staff and management throughout the clinic and health system. External contacts include consumers, physicians, outside medical staff, and community resource services.

Required Qualifications

  • Education
    • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
    • National Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Licensure/Certifications
    • Current Oklahoma Nurse Practitioner Licensure or the ability to obtain
    • Valid Drug Enforcement Agency license
    • Approval for privileges by Medical Staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education
    • Master of Nursing Degree
  • Experience
    • One (1) year of experience as an APP in a family practice setting, urgent care, or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of national medical best practices within an urgent care setting
  • Knowledge of and skill in the use of personal computers and related systems and software
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to willingly accept responsibility
  • Ability to set priorities and use good judgement
