Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Covanta Tulsa is an award-winning Waste-to-Energy Facility that serves the Tulsa area with reliable and sustainable waste management.

About the Opportunity

As part of the plant's leadership team, this high visibility role provides an opportunity to play a proactive and critical role in developing the maintenance strategy of the plant. You will also be able to leverage support from the Regional Maintenance Team and facility resources for outages and capital projects.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Waste-to-Energy facility for mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation / control activities. This includes developing the long-term maintenance plan and providing direction and accountability for daily planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities on boiler, turbine-generators, material handling, and balance of plant equipment.

This position is responsible for direct supervision of mechanics, technicians, and contractors performing preventive and corrective maintenance as well as outages and projects. This includes evaluating, maintaining, and upgrading the maintenance shop equipment, and developing the skills of the technicians to enhance the value and performance of the maintenance team.

This individual must possess the ability to create an environment that energizes and empowers employees to drive system improvements as well as the ability to train and mentor employees on proper maintenance work & trouble shooting.

The individual will be responsible for managing the business aspect of the maintenance work process, operating within the annual budget, and for providing accurate monthly forecasting updates.

As a member of a dynamic and responsive facility leadership team, the Maintenance Manager must excel at all forms of communication, collaboration with operations and engineering, and critical decision making.

The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys taking a challenge head-on, with the support of a highly capable team, and derives satisfaction from delivering exceptional results through innovation, excellence, and teamwork.

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate must have 7-10 years of experience as a hands-on Maintenance Manager, ideally in a manufacturing, power plant, or chemical industry environment. Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Degree preferred.

Required Experience and Abilities:

* Supervisory or management experience is required.

* Experience in planning and coordinating major maintenance/overhaul projects preferred.

* Experience with rotating equipment, process pumping and piping preferred.

* Experience with Waste-to-Energy, power generation or other large industrial plant preferred.

* Familiarity with CMMS and scheduling tools is required.

* Must be able to identify needs for improvement & implement change, have knowledge of maintenance budgeting and methodologies, be able to manage spare parts inventory to optimum levels.

* Must possess strong communication, organization, and computer skills.
