Engine Assembler

Primary Location: 2301 E. Independence, Tulsa, OK 74110 USA

Employment Type: Hourly | Full-Time

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Assembles internal combustion engines according to standard procedures
Prepare and positions various crankcases initial stage of engine assembly using mechanics hand tools and power hoist
Presses gears, sheave, flywheel, and sprockets to shaft using hand or hydraulic press and locks them with keys or pins
Inserts cylinder sleeves into engine block or casing and fits piston and connecting rod assembly into cylinder and bolts it to crankshaft
Aligns engine parts, such as camshaft and crankshaft gears, and sets timing and clearances between fixed and moving parts.
Examines parts or observes movement of completed assemblies to detect malfunction, and discards or replaces defective parts or assemblies according to ISO procedures
Bolts subassemblies, such as cylinder head, carburetor, and governor to engine, using torque wrench or other hand tools
Must complete tasks in accordance to standards
Maintain a clean work area
Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, bend, walk, crouch, reach, grasp, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Eye Protection consists of goggles, face shield or safety glasses.

Work Environment:
Warehouse Environment.
Exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold or chemicals

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Regular Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Overtime as needed

Must work as a Team Member
Continuous improvement - Quality work a must!

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Vocational or high school training in automotive mechanics helpful but not necessary

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have experience with engines and be familiar with internal combustion engine components and how they operate and have experience with their assembly, overhaul or repair
Must possess a high degree of mechanical aptitude
Must be familiar with and able to use mechanic hand tools
Must know how to read precision measuring instruments, read instruction books and manuals and ability to comprehend assembly drawings
