Position Title:Radiology Tech Aide II - Cardiology

Department:EKG Lab/IED Clinic

Job Description:

General Description: Under general supervision, assists in completion of imaging examinations, daily workflow, improvement of workflow, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor or technologist.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.

* Assists with scheduling, equipment, and other resources according to the needs of the patients, physicians, and department.

* Maintains department records, reports, and files

* Provides assistance with transporting, preparing patients for their exams, and assisting patients within the department

* Handles confidential information within patient records

* Provides and facilitates a clean and organized environment utilizing appropriate cleaning/disinfection and prepares imaging environment as directed

* Assists with entering technical data into the computer

* Proactively manages patient expectations using AIDET to improve patient satisfaction

* Maintains records, inventory, and equipment for area responsibility

* Provide patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures

* Assists with positioning of patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated

* Assists with contrast handling and preparation (may not administer)

* Assists with image post-processing

* Assists with venipuncture for imaging procedures

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Associates degree preferred; Medical Assistant training preferred

Experience: Preferred: Six (6) months experience as a Radiology Tech Aide or other relevant healthcare work experience

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: BLS required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good communication skills, able to communicate in a positive clear manner with staff, patients, physicians and other hospital employees. Ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care.
