Description

This is an experienced non-supervisory position within the Land Department and reflects someone who is regarded as a land expert within the company. Should be able to influence teams and solve complex problems creating significant business opportunities. May guide and direct Landmen, Technicians, and supporting staff in their efforts to ensure all goals and objectives are met.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May work closely with other disciplines as part of a team responsible for overall activities within an assigned area of interest
  • Regularly seeks opportunities to support and/or lead land efforts with respect to medium to large scale acquisitions, sales, deals, research, or other projects
  • Communicate with and inform management of facts and information on a regular basis
  • Is proactive in seeking opportunities to effectively lead multi-discipline teams on large or complex projects
  • Interpret, negotiate, and prepare complex contracts
  • Provide an example of leadership and motivation to the staff
  • Assist management with job evaluations and interviews for open positions
  • Mentor lesser experienced staff
  • Track budgets
  • Use company and industry contacts to assist in achieving goals
  • Create and deliver effective presentations with minimal preparation
  • Represent the company at industry functions and networking events
  • Make original contributions that impact results
  • Review and revise existing processes and procedures, or develop new ones to create efficiencies

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, PLM/EC/EM/JD a plus
  • 15+ years of Land experience preferred
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work with multiple deadlines and set multiple priorities
  • Ability to show consistent effort and productivity
  • Willing to assume additional responsibilities, and work daily in a fast paced cooperative team environment

COMPENSATION:

Salary is commensurate with experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is primarily an office position where work is normally performed in a climate controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require some pushing, pulling, or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds, such as files, documents or boxes. Work involves sitting in an office environment most of the time but may involve standing and walking for brief periods. Position requires travel to field locations. Estimated travel approximately 30%.
