Description

Under supervision of the Employee Relations Manager the specialist will support the offboarding and corrective action process by assisting in the preparation, organization, and storage of all documentation associated with the employee termination and corrective action process. The specialist will also be responsible for supporting the employee performance management program to include maintenance of performance competencies, assisting with supervisor training, and performance review tracking. Supports agency job description data base and works with HR Manager to develop new job descriptions as needed.

Process Employee Corrective Action/Offboarding Documents

  • Complete employee orange forms
  • Send exit survey emails
  • Calculate sign-on bonus recoupment
  • Prepare/coordinate voluntary termination letters.
  • Maintain and send weekly termination report
  • Coordinate collection and return of termed employee personal belongings.
  • Process all employee offboarding documents ensuring the accurate storage in employee files.
  • Maintain corrective action tracking and ensure documents are stored in employee file

Performance Management Program Support

  • Maintain performance review competencies for all job titles
  • Assist in the facilitation of supervisor training for performance review program
  • Aid in the preparation and initiation of the annual and 90-day performance reviews
  • Facilitate the tracking and monitoring of performance review completion

Administer agency portfolio of job descriptions

  • Prepare job descriptions for new employee orientation
  • Ensure job descriptions are up to date and follow agency guidelines
  • Collaborate with HR Manager to write new job descriptions as needed.

Special Projects

  • Provide support to HR department on special projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Seek new ways to improve Human Resources' processes
  • Participate in the accreditation process as needed
  • Assist in employee investigations, EEOC claims, and other workplace grievances and investigations
  • Support the HR Manager in writing and reviewing HR policies and Maintenace of the employee handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field is required.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years administrative assistance experience, preferably in Human Resources, is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or PHR, SPHR certification preferred
