Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) provides integrated medical and behavioral health care to clients in a community based setting.

Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) is part of a multidisciplinary team. Under supervision and within agency policy and clinical standards, this position will provide services to produce optimal outcomes for CCBHC SMI and COD clients discharging from inpatient to outpatient services. Services are provided primarily in an Inpatient Center assisting in completing enrollments with newly admitted clients to facilitate successful hospital discharge to transition to outpatient care with the team and may also include community based services.

The Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) provides peer support services, based on an individualized, recovery-focused service philosophy that allows individuals the opportunity to learn to manage their own recovery and advocacy process. The PRSS will work to enhance the development of natural supports, coping skills and other skills necessary to function as independently as possible in the community, including, but not limited to assisting re-entry into the community after incarceration, a hospitalization or other institutional setting. The PRSS performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers in regaining control of their lives and recovery processes. The PRSS is embedded in an inpatient facility and will assist the client in completing necessary forms for intake and enrollment in outpatient services. Must possess the skills to maintain a high level of professionalism, ethics and interactions with all ODMHSAS stakeholders.

Requirements Personal experience in active recovery of mental illness or substance use. High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Specialized experience as a recipient of mental health services for severe mental illness and experience as a paid or volunteer staff working with adults with severe mental illness. Ability to work with the public, ability to maintain an effective working relationship with agency employees, ability to maintain a professional manner at all times and ability to maintain confidentiality. Must obtain and carry cellular phone during working hours. Must possess a Driver's License and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office. Must transport clients in personal automobile. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations is preferred. Ability to document activities, write reports, business correspondence and procedure manual. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, clients, customers and the general public. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with colleagues, clients, client's families, public and third party payer personnel. Strong preference may be given to individuals who have experience with the Department of Corrections or similar organization.

This job is classified as a "safety-sensitive" position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act.
