Position Summary: Responsible for providing computer assisted technology training and services to consumers throughout the state of Oklahoma.

Essential duties and responsibilities(3-5 core functions representing 80% of time spent):

• Provides individual client evaluation and instruction in all aspects of Computer assisted technology including Braille instruction.
• Dispenses and maintains rehabilitation equipment and instructs in the proper use thereof.
• Maintains service file of all Rehabilitation Teaching clients with information / documentation regarding client service planning and progress and updates central file with information.
• Works as a team member with other NVO professionals, volunteers and staff.
• Provides public education on blindness issues and all aspects of NVO services.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Rehabilitation Director.
• Must wear all protective equipment required by department.
• Must follow all company policies and procedures including departmental safety policies.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

(Minimum education, experience, training, licensure, certification):

• Assistive Technology Instructor Certification, Rehabilitation Teaching or related field.
• JAWS, ZoomText and NVDA Certifications
• A minimum of two years experience in rehabilitation teaching preferred.
• Ability to use aids, appliances and techniques commonly utilized by vision impaired persons including Braille.
• Basic computer database and word processing
